Hello, how can we help you?

Managing Company Smartphones with LiteLog

Managing Company Smartphones with LiteLog

This section explains how companies using LiteLog can efficiently manage large fleets of smartphones (typically 20–100 devices), restrict them to LiteLog only, and quickly provision new hardware at scale.

1. Fleet Management (Mobile Device Management – MDM)

To centrally manage and secure company-owned smartphones, we recommend implementing a Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution.

  • Install and update the LiteLog application remotely
  • Enforce access restrictions or app usage policies
  • Lock or wipe devices remotely if lost or stolen
  • Monitor device status and compliance

Recommended MDM solutions:

  • Google Endpoint Management (Android Enterprise) – ideal for Android-based devices.
  • Microsoft Intune – integrates well if your company already uses Microsoft 365.
  • Samsung Knox Manage – recommended for Samsung devices.
  • Scalefusion, Hexnode, or VMware Workspace ONE – reliable third-party options with strong Android support.

These systems provide full visibility and control without requiring physical access to each phone.

2. Restricting Devices to LiteLog Only (Kiosk Mode)

To ensure that company smartphones are used exclusively for LiteLog, you can enable Kiosk Mode (Single App Mode) through your MDM solution.

  • Make LiteLog the only accessible app on the device
  • Block other apps (such as YouTube, WhatsApp, or the Play Store)
  • Prevent users from exiting or disabling this mode, even after rebooting

This setup helps companies maintain focus, ensure compliance, and protect against unauthorized app use.

3. Fast and Consistent Onboarding of New Devices

When ordering and deploying new smartphones regularly, manual setup can be time-consuming.
To automate this process, we recommend using Android Zero-Touch Enrollment or Samsung Knox Mobile Enrollment (for Samsung hardware).

  • Automatically register new devices with your MDM upon first startup
  • Apply all required settings, restrictions, and install LiteLog automatically
  • Deliver ready-to-use devices without any manual configuration

4. Recommended Setup for LiteLog Clients

For the best combination of security, control, and efficiency, we recommend the following setup:

  • Android Enterprise for device management
  • Kiosk Mode to restrict access to LiteLog only
  • Zero-Touch Enrollment for seamless onboarding

Together, these tools enable companies to maintain full control of their mobile fleet while keeping the LiteLog environment consistent, secure, and easy to scale.

5. iOS Devices (Apple iPhone and iPad)

LiteLog can also be used on iOS devices; however, Apple’s device management model is more restrictive compared to Android.

What’s Possible

With Apple Business Manager (ABM) combined with an MDM solution (e.g., Jamf, Intune, Kandji, or Mosyle), companies can:

  • Distribute and update the LiteLog app remotely
  • Apply configuration profiles and security policies
  • Restrict access to certain system features or apps
  • Enable Single App Mode (Kiosk) — but only for Supervised devices enrolled via ABM

Limitations

  • Single App Mode cannot be activated on standard, unsupervised iPhones.
  • Devices must be purchased through Apple’s business channels or enrolled manually via Apple Configurator.
  • Apple’s MDM API does not allow the same level of granular control as Android Enterprise (for example, no “Zero-Touch” equivalent).

Recommended Setup for iOS

  • Register all devices in Apple Business Manager (ABM).
  • Link them to your MDM system (Jamf, Intune, etc.).
  • Activate Supervised Mode for each device.
  • Enable Single App Mode for LiteLog.

This approach allows LiteLog to run securely and consistently across iOS devices while staying within Apple’s ecosystem guidelines.
