Hello, how can we help you?

What is a Patrol?

A patrol in LiteLog is a defined route that an employee walks,
scanning checkpoints and documenting events along the way.
This creates a complete record of where the employee was and what they did.

What types of patrols does LiteLog offer?

LiteLog distinguishes between free patrols and planned patrols.

Free patrols (ACTUAL)

The employee starts a patrol without fixed time specifications or mandatory checkpoints.
Everything that is scanned or documented counts as the ACTUAL state.

Planned patrols (TARGET / ACTUAL)

Here, times and checkpoints are predefined. The employee must carry out the patrol as planned.
LiteLog records TARGET and ACTUAL and automatically reports deviations.

What is a free patrol?

A free patrol is flexible:

  • The employee simply starts the patrol
  • They walk the route and scan the available points
  • There are no fixed time windows and no mandatory sequence

Ideal for:

  • Special checks (e.g. after an alarm)
  • Additional rounds when needed
  • Unplanned situations or ad hoc inspections

Everything that is scanned or documented during the patrol
is stored as the ACTUAL state.

What is a planned patrol?

A planned patrol has clear specifications:

  • Defined checkpoints
  • Fixed time windows (e.g. between 22:00 and 23:00)
  • Fixed sequence (optional)

LiteLog automatically compares:

  • TARGET = the planned patrol
  • ACTUAL = the patrol actually carried out

This lets you see at any time whether the patrol was carried out as intended.

What happens if there are deviations in planned patrols?

LiteLog automatically detects:

  • missing checkpoints
  • scans that are too early or too late
  • wrong sequence (optional)

In case of deviations, notifications can be sent to:

  • the control center
  • site managers
  • or other defined contacts

This makes issues visible quickly.

Can I combine free and planned patrols in one site?

Yes.

One site can contain multiple patrols – free,
planned, or a combination of both.

Example:

  • Planned night patrol every 2 hours
  • Additional free patrols in case of special incidents

Can patrols be carried out offline?

Yes.

LiteLog also works offline:

  • Scans and reports are stored locally on the smartphone
  • As soon as an internet connection is available again, all data is
    automatically synchronized

How are patrols planned?

In the admin interface (browser), you create a patrol and define:

  • Patrol name
  • Checkpoints
  • Time windows
  • Repetition (e.g. daily, hourly, nights only)

Employees then see the planned patrol in the app
and can start it directly.

Can the employee record reports during a patrol?

Yes.

During any patrol – free or planned – the following can be recorded directly in the app:

  • Incidents
  • Damage
  • Notes or special observations

These reports are linked to the corresponding site, patrol and timestamp.

How can I evaluate patrols?

LiteLog clearly shows:

  • ACTUAL patrol execution
  • TARGET specifications
  • Deviations
  • Timestamps
  • Employee assignment

All data can be exported as PDF or CSV
for example for customer reports, proof of service or internal analysis.

What hardware is required?

For standard use, you only need:

  • a smartphone with the LiteLog app
  • NFC tags or QR codes at the checkpoints

Additional servers, expensive special devices or manual IT updates are not required.
