# Edit Route

On this page you edit an existing route for a property. A multi-step wizard guides you through all settings — from basic data to schedules, control points, and date adjustments.

## Features Overview

### Multi-Step Wizard

The wizard organizes the editing into four clear steps:

1. **Basic Data** — Set the route name and internal/public notes. The name can be changed at any time directly in the header.
2. **Schedule & Preview** — Configure start date, end date, start time, and duration. Select recurrence rules (daily, weekly, monthly) and weekdays/month days. A live calendar preview of all planned rounds appears on the right.
3. **Control Points** — Arrange control points in the desired scan order via drag & drop. Define which control points are mandatory and how many scans per round are expected (frequency).
4. **Date Change** — Choose whether changes take effect immediately (all existing schedules are replaced) or from a future date onward.

### Calendar Preview

In the second step, the calendar preview shows all planned round dates in a monthly, weekly, or daily view. This lets you verify at a glance whether the recurrence rules are correct.

### Control Point Management

Control points are NFC tags or QR codes at your location. The list shows all assigned control points and lets you reorder them via drag & drop. Mandatory control points must be scanned on every round.

### Unsaved Changes Guard

Unsaved changes are automatically detected. If you try to leave the page, you will be warned first. Use the "Discard changes" button in the header to return to the last saved state at any time.

## Good to Know

:::tip Note
- When saving, you can choose between **Immediately** and **From a date**. With "Immediately", the existing route is fully replaced. With "From a date", the old route remains active until the chosen date and a new version takes over afterward — so no log history is lost.
- Holidays and special dates of the property are taken into account when scheduling. In the property settings, you can define whether routes should be paused on holidays, run only on holidays, or remain unchanged.
- Planned round schedules are automatically created for the next 5 days. The preview updates after every change.

## Permissions

To edit a route, you need the permissions **Edit rounds** and **View rounds**.
Contact your administrator if you do not have access.
