Calendar subscription (iCal)

With the calendar subscription you see your own shifts in the calendar you already use: Google Calendar, Apple Calendar (iPhone, Mac) or Outlook. LiteLog provides a personal iCal link (ICS feed) that your calendar app subscribes to. Changes in the roster appear automatically on the next refresh, without exporting anything.

:::info What the calendar contains Every shift you are scheduled for: 90 days back and one year ahead. Each shift shows its name, the property with address, the time, instructions and the colleagues on the same shift. Cancelled shifts stay visible as "Cancelled" and do not block time. Shifts of other people or whole properties are not included. :::

  1. Open Time → Plan → Roster.
  2. Click ⋯ More actions → Calendar subscription (iCal) at the top right.
  3. Click Create subscription link. LiteLog shows two addresses: the https address (for Google Calendar) and the webcal address (for Apple Calendar and Outlook).
  4. Copy the matching address with Copy.

:::warning The link is shown only once LiteLog does not store the link in plain text. Copy it before closing the window. Treat it like a password: anyone who has the link can see your shifts. If you lose it, click Regenerate; the old link becomes invalid immediately. :::

Subscribe in your calendar app​

The subscribed calendar is called LiteLog Dienstplan and can be shown or hidden like any other calendar.

How quickly do changes appear?​

The calendar app decides, not LiteLog:

  • Apple Calendar and Outlook usually fetch the link within an hour (Apple lets you choose down to every 5 minutes).
  • Google Calendar refreshes subscribed calendars only every 12 to 24 hours and offers no setting for it.

For same-day changes the app remains the reliable source.

The same dialog shows since when your subscription is active and when a calendar app last fetched the link.

  • Regenerate replaces the link. Calendars using the old link stop receiving shifts and must subscribe again.
  • Deactivate invalidates the link without creating a new one.

Permissions​

The calendar subscription is available to every account with View time tracking. It shows only your own shifts; there is no subscription for other people or whole properties.
