Time Tracking: Methods, Billing and Limits
This page answers the three questions that come up most often before a rollout: How do my people clock in?, What does it cost? and What can LiteLog not do in time tracking? How to operate each view is described on the linked pages.
Figures as of 16 October 2026. Prices are net, from the LiteLog shop; licence prices are on Choose a package.
Six ways to clock in and out
You set the method per property, separately for clocking in and clocking out. In the portal, choose a package under Property → Time tracking → Check-in / check-out method; the path is described on Time tracking (property).
| No. | Method (package name in the portal) | When it fits | Hardware | Net price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Button in the LiteLog app, optionally with a GPS zone (proof "Location") | Own phones, many changing properties, no hardware on site | none; the GPS zone is an area around the property, see Geofence zones | €0 |
| 2 | Scan QR code with the LiteLog app | Cheap and fast, many small properties | the property's QR code, generated in the portal and printed yourself | €0 |
| 3 | Scan NFC chip with the LiteLog app | Tamper-proof (proximity required), metal surfaces, clinics, night shifts | NFC chip on site; for metal, the "checkpoint chip for metal surfaces" | chip from €1.80 each (pack from €44.99), metal chip from €2.00 each (pack from €29.99) |
| 4 | Personal chip or card at an NFC reader (package "Custom" → "NFC reader") | Crews without private phones, hygiene areas, workshops, entrances | reader on site (power and Wi-Fi, power bank works) plus one card or chip per person, see Stationary terminal | card from €1.60 each (pack from €39.99), reader on request |
| 5 | QR code or NFC chip without app (property switch "Web check-in") | External companies, subcontractors, temporary staff without the app | QR code or NFC chip at the point; the phone opens a browser page and the person enters their personnel number | as method 2 or 3 |
| 6 | Mix per property | NFC only at some sites, QR or button elsewhere | per property | per property |
In addition there is the beacon as proof without scanning: a beacon on site confirms the phone's proximity and can switch the active property automatically. It never blocks; a missing proof is logged. Details: Check-in methods.
For the mix: within "On site", QR and NFC can be combined. The button ("In the app") and "On site" exclude each other at one property. If several methods are active, the app shows a choice when clocking in.
Other hardware in the shop: a preconfigured company smartphone (Samsung Galaxy A16 LiteLog Edition, €279.99 net). Clocking in via Telegram or WhatsApp is described on Time tracking via messenger.
Billing
LiteLog bills per package. Each package includes seats; a seat is a concurrently active user, not an account. You can create unlimited employee accounts, and customer access costs no seat. Packages start at €39 per month; package sizes, extra seats and annual prices are on Choose a package.

These functions exist; the terms are the ones used in the portal.

| Rating per visit | Inside window, Outside, Below minimum duration; filter Deviations only; flags Entered later, Changed, Ended automatically | Attendance proof, also in customer access |
| Notifications | Triggers Check-in missing, Check-out missing, Attendance target missed, Visit gap violated, Left property area | Alerts, automation |
| Live | Attendance list (who is at which property right now) and Evacuation list | Attendance list (live), Evacuation list |
| Forgotten clock-out | Auto-end after a duration, at a fixed time, or at the next clock-in at another property | Auto-end |
| Correction | A change reason is mandatory when editing; the history shows old and new value and who changed it | Working times |

Not included
LiteLog does not offer these functions. The right column names the way that works instead.
| Asked for | Not available | Alternative |
|---|---|---|
| Payroll export in DATEV, LODAS, Lexoffice or Lexware format | No payroll format | CSV or Excel export of working times, or the REST API; the import into the payroll system is done by the customer or their accountant |
| Correction request by the employee with approval by management | No request and approval workflow for times | The employee reports it; management enters the time in the portal (change reason mandatory, flagged "Entered later" in the proof). With the permission "Create time tracking", the employee can add time later without approval |
| Separate travel time | No time type "Travel"; the setting "Travel" limits visits per week | Record travel as its own time at a property "Travel" and evaluate per property |
| Live photo when clocking in | Not available | Location binding via NFC chip or GPS zone; photos only in forms and tasks |
| Alert when one device clocks in for several accounts | Not available (only one account on two devices is detected) | Personal chip at a reader, or web check-in with personnel number |
| Tablet terminal with device lock | LiteLog itself does not lock a device and has no terminal mode of its own | NFC reader with personal cards, or "QR code or NFC chip without app"; locking the device to the app is done via the manufacturer's device management, see Kiosk mode (MDM) |
| Fixed 14-hour limit | Not available | Auto-end after duration or at a fixed time per property |
| Target person-hours per series or task | Only via shifts | Shift template per property with duration and headcount, target/actual per shift |
