Attendance Control
With Attendance Control you plan recurring shifts and automatically monitor whether your employees are present on time and in full. The system generates individual shifts from your presets, records check-ins and check-outs, and evaluates each shift automatically.

:::info Prerequisites To create and edit presets you need Create time tracking or Edit time tracking. To view and evaluate shifts, View time tracking is sufficient. Contact your administrator if a feature is not available to you. :::
How it works
- Create a preset — Define a shift configuration: shift times, check-in/check-out windows, recurrence rules and requirements. → Create & Edit
- Shifts are generated automatically — The system creates individual shifts from each preset for the next 5 days. Duplicate entries are prevented.
- Employees check in and out — Via app button, kiosk QR, static QR code or NFC tag. The available methods are configured per property. → Check-in and Check-out Methods. Every check-in and check-out is recorded with a timestamp and source (app, kiosk, manual).
- Evaluation happens automatically — Once the check-out window closes, each shift is evaluated: Were the requirements met? → Evaluation Successful. Not met? → Failed. No requirements configured? → Always Successful.
Workflow for Property Managers
Set up Attendance Control for a new property in this order:

Terminology: Phase, Status, Evaluation
Attendance Control uses three independent dimensions:

The Phase determines the colour in the table view. The Status shows the current state. The Evaluation is the final result — it is only assigned once the shift reaches the "Completed" phase.
Shift lifecycle
Every shift goes through five phases:

Check-in and Check-out Windows
Each shift preset defines two time windows around the shift times:
- Check-in window — A period before and after the shift start during which a check-in is considered on time
- Check-out window — A period before and after the shift end during which a check-out is considered on time
Example: Shift 08:00–20:00, check-in tolerance 10 min before / 5 min after, check-out tolerance 10 min before / 5 min after

:::tip Check-in possible at any time The windows do not restrict when an employee can check in. A check-in is possible at any time — even well before the check-in window or afterwards. The windows only determine the punctuality evaluation (early, on time, late). :::
Punctuality Evaluation
For every check-in and check-out the system automatically calculates a punctuality status and the deviation in minutes from the shift time.
Check-in
The status is measured against the shift start (not the window boundaries):

Check-out

Early arrivals and requirement evaluation
An employee who checks in before the check-in window and continues working until the window opens is counted as present for the requirement evaluation. This prevents false alarms when employees start work early.
Example: Shift starts at 08:00, check-in window from 07:50
- Employee checks in at 07:30 and works until 20:00 → work time is still running at 07:50 → counts as present for the requirement
- Employee checks in at 07:30 and leaves at 07:45 → work time ends before 07:50 → does not count as present
24/7 Properties and Shift Handover
For properties with round-the-clock coverage (e.g. two 12-hour shifts) the system automatically assigns each check-in to the nearest shift.
Example: Day shift 06:00–18:00, night shift 18:00–06:00
- Employee arrives at 05:30 → assigned to the day shift (06:00), not the ending night shift
- Employee arrives at 17:30 → assigned to the night shift (18:00)
This allows shifts to hand over seamlessly, even when employees arrive early.
When is a shift "Successful" or "Failed"?
The evaluation depends exclusively on the configured requirements:

Alerts on deviations
LiteLog automatically detects when a shift does not go as planned and notifies the responsible persons.
Recipients, channels and escalation levels are configured per property under Settings → Notifications. The notification channels of the preset (push, email, SMS, phone call) determine which channels are active for that preset.

Common workflows
Set up a recurring shift
- Navigate to the property → Time Tracking → Create preset
- Enter a name (e.g. "Night shift Building A")
- Set start/end time and check-in/check-out windows
- Choose Weekly and the desired days
- Configure requirements (e.g. minimum 2 check-ins)
- Select notification channels
- Check the calendar preview — it shows the next 5 generated shifts
- Save
Analyse a failed shift
- Open the table view and filter by Failed
- Click the affected shift → full view
- Check the progress bar: in which phase was the check-in missing?
- Switch to the Log tab for the chronological event list
- If needed: manually check in the employee (with reason)
Quickly spot today's problems
- Open the table view
- Filter by Today and the Failed or In Progress tab
- The dashboard overview shows the total count per evaluation
- Click critical shifts for details
