Create Route
On this page you create a new route (a route template) for a property. A three-step wizard in the planning drawer guides you through the configuration: basic data, scheduling with a schedule preview, and checkpoints. You reach it via the property's Tasks & Routes tab (the property is then already set), via the Task | Route switch in the create drawer of the schedule and the task plan, or by copying an existing route from the property overview.
What is this view for?
This is where loose checkpoints become a planned route (target/actual): you define when the route is walked (start date, time window, recurrence) and what must be scanned (which checkpoints, in which order). Only this template generates the individual route appointments against which later evaluations measure the actual execution against the target. This includes automatic deviations such as missing points or scans that are too early or too late.
Scope: the checkpoints themselves (NFC/QR/beacon stations) are created in the property's setup view. If you only need a free check without a schedule, you do not need a template. This page is exclusively for planned routes. If several properties are to be visited in sequence (a patrol run), link the properties into a tour. There you decide per stop whether tasks are completed, a route is walked, or only a check-in is booked.
The wizard is identical to the editing view; when editing, only a fourth step (date change) is added.
The Wizard (3 Steps)
You can change the name at any time directly in the header. The buttons Back, Next, and finally Create route sit at the top right of the drawer header; use the × on the left to cancel.
Step 1 — Basic Data

Note and Task start out hidden as chips; clicking a chip opens its text field. If no property is preset (entry without a property context), the wizard also asks here for the property. If you came via the property's Tasks & Routes tab, the property is already set and this question does not appear.
Step 2 — Scheduling & Preview
Here you define when the route takes place. On the left sit, in one row, the start date and the rounds with time window and frequency (one line per round, trash icon on the right, Add round below); underneath follow On violation and Recurrence. On the right, the schedule preview shows how the new rounds sit in the property's plan.
Start date: from when the route applies.
Rounds (time window + frequency): Each round consists of a time window (start time → end time) and a frequency: how often the route must be completed within this window (1–50). Use + Add round to add further time windows (e.g. 06:00–10:00 and 11:00–13:00); each round can be removed individually. The exact scan times within a window are not enforced, only the required number must fall within the window.
On violation: Determines which workflow rule runs when a round is not scanned in time or not completed. Below the selector, plain text states what currently happens, for example "Default: No active rule. Nothing happens on a violation." or "Default: On a violation, 'Night-watch escalation' (property default) applies." with a link to the rule. The ⓘ next to the selector still shows the full effect chain across all levels (property, tenant, legacy behavior).
Recurrence: In the dropdown you choose the pattern: Daily, Mon–Fri, Sat–Sun, Weekly, Biweekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Half-yearly, Yearly (the 12-month rhythm; the interval field then counts in years), or One-time (no recurring appointment). For Weekly, the weekday buttons (Mon–Sun) appear below; for Monthly, the day-of-month buttons (1–31). Otherwise the dialog shows only the pattern selection.
Everything else sits behind More settings and expands automatically as soon as something deviates from the default:
- Repeat every [N] days / weeks / months.
- Reference: Determines what the interval is measured from: Fixed date (default, the dates follow from the start date) or After completion (the next date is counted from the last fully completed round). If a monthly round was only walked on 3 February, the next date is 3 March. With After completion, weekday and month-day selection and the public-holiday rule are omitted, because no fixed calendar day applies.
- On public holidays: You choose the holiday rule separately from the recurrence pattern: Treat normally, Skip on holidays, or Only on holidays.
- Ends: Never (default, the recurrence runs indefinitely) or On date with an end date for the series.
:::info One open round at a time With After completion only the next round is ever scheduled, and it counts as completed only once all required passes of the time window have been done. A partial scan therefore does not advance the series. If a round is left undone, it moves to the current day until it is actually walked. There is always exactly one open, walkable round, and it is reported as missed only once. :::
Schedule preview: To the right of the time windows sits the schedule preview as a planning matrix of the selected property (the same view as the task plan), compact for one week or one day. It shows the property's existing appointments (other patrols, tasks, tours, shifts) and, in between, the new rounds of this route as dashed cards with the chip New, one card per time window. This way you see before saving where the new round sits among the others (for instance a third night round between 22:00 and 01:00). The arrows move through periods, Today jumps back, a select field switches between week and day, Go to first occurrence jumps to the week of the first occurrence. By default the preview shows only the selected property. The Other properties switch adds the other scheduled properties below it. With After completion the preview shows only the first round on the start date, because each further round depends on the previous completion. The cards are display only. Nothing can be moved by drag and drop any more. When editing, the route's own occurrences are hidden. You only see the new state.
:::tip Different times for weekdays, weekends, and holidays Since one recurrence pattern applies per template, model differing times with multiple templates, e.g. one with "Mon–Fri" and the holiday rule "Skip on holidays", one with "Sat–Sun", and one with the holiday rule "Only on holidays". :::
Step 3 — Checkpoints
On the left you see Checkpoints in the route (N pcs.): the points assigned to the route. On the right sits the checkpoint list (import list) with all checkpoints of the property, grouped by area.
- Assign: Click a checkpoint in the import list, or its + icon, to take it over. Use Add whole area on the respective area heading to add all points of that area at once. In the import list you search via the search field and create a new point directly via + Create checkpoint (requires Create control points). Points already taken over stay visible but are greyed out.
- Enforce order (switch): activates the enforced scan order. If it is off, the points may be scanned in any order.
- Per checkpoint, use the lock icon to define whether this point is bound to the fixed order. This way individual points can be fixed while others stay flexible. Arrange the order via drag and drop. Use the trash icon to remove a point again.
In the app, the order binding then works like this: a bound point can only be scanned once all earlier bound points are completed, otherwise the app reports "Wrong order". Unbound points can be scanned at any time. A rejected scan is still stored in the log as additional evidence, but does not count as completing the point.
At least one checkpoint is required. Save the template with Create route.
After creating the route, the detail view of the new route opens. If a change approval only files the route as a request, the drawer closes instead; the detail view does not open in that case.
Template / Copy
You do not have to start from scratch: in the property overview, every route row offers the Copy action. Basic data, scheduling, and checkpoints are taken over, the name gets the suffix "(Copy)", and the appointments are reset to the following day. Everything can be adjusted before saving.
Good to Know
:::tip Note
- The route name must be unique per property.
- Holidays and special dates of the property are automatically taken into account. Whether routes are paused or executed on holidays is controlled via the template's holiday rule ("On public holidays").
- The duration (time window) must be between 1 minute and 24 hours.
- After creation, the route appointments are automatically generated for the next 5 days.

Permissions
:::info Permission To create a route, you need the permission Create preset round settings. To create new checkpoints directly in the wizard, additionally Create control points. Contact your administrator if you do not have access. :::
